Eyebrow Piercings
An eyebrow piercing is a vertical surface piercing, where a piercing needle is inserted through the bottom of the eyebrow and exits through the top of the eyebrow to permit insertion of a jewelery. A curved barbell is the most common jewelry inserted post-piercing, usually with a longer length in diameter barbell due to the swelling around the eyebrow. There are other ways the piercing can be done, a piercing of underneath the eye is known as an anti-eyebrow piercing., and a horizontal piercing of the eyebrow is known as a horizontal eyebrow piercing. Eyebrow piercing is nothing new as it has been in existence since the 1960s, and has been performed in many cultures as part of a rite of passage or to identify a person as courageous, strong, or worthy.
